Tried updating to ios 6
Here's Apple's list: You have two methods for downloading and installing i OS 6.
You can simply update your i OS device over the air via the device's Settings, or you can connect it to your computer and use i Tunes.
Method 1: Over the air The easier of the methods is to grab your i Phone, i Pad, or i Pod Touch and update wirelessly.
Before doing so, however, it's wouldn't be a bad idea to sync your device with i Tunes if you haven't done so in a while.
Tap the button, agree to Apple's terms and conditions, and either heed or ignore Apple's advice to connect your device to a power source during the download to save battery.
After i OS 6 installs, your device will restart, which was a rather lengthy process in my experience (20 minutes or so, after the roughly 45 minutes it took to download and install).
There have been instances with past i OS updates where users have reported the new i OS didn't install correctly, bricking their phone and forcing them to restore their phone before trying again.
We would recommend that you restart your i Phone or i Pad and try updating before attempting to Restore the device.
To do this, hold down your i Phone’s power button until the “Slide to Power Off” slider appears.
Swipe the slider from left to right with your finger, wait a few seconds for your i Phone to power off, and immediately turn it back on by holding down the power button.
If you have an i Cloud backup, you’ll be able to sign in and restore from your backup as part of the setup process — just make sure you know your Apple ID and password.
If you back up your i Phone to i Tunes, you’ll need to connect your i Phone to your computer at home to retrieve your data.
